Roy Geoghegan was born July 1916, in Jefferson County. He served as a motorcycle patrolman in the 30's and 40's first riding an Indian motorcycle, and later riding a Harley. He said he liked the Indian motorcycle much better.

Roy served in the U.S.Army during WWII in Germany. After his honorable discharge he married and started a family. He had three children. He built a home on Belknap Beach in Oldham County doing much of the construction himself.

Roy and his brother Clarence operated Geoghegan Roofing Co., in Louisville, Ky. After his retirement, he moved to Florida where he resided for 29 years.

His Masonic service started at Shawnee Lodge in downtown Louisville where he was initiated as an Entered Apprentice. He was later raised to the sublime degree of a Master Mason in 1941. Later he joined Harrods Creek Lodge and served as Secretary. After he moved to Florida he joined Peace River Masonic Lodge.

About 2009 Roy moved back to Oldham County, where he attended Pewee Valley Lodge #829 F.& A.M. located in Crestwood, Ky. and currently remains a member.

Roy was always working on cars and motorcycles that he raced in the 50's. He rode his last motorcycle at the age of 96 riding to Crestwood from La Grange and back.

The friends and members of Pewee Valley #829 would like to wish Roy Geoghegan all the best in his future travels and thank him for his wonderful 75 Years of service, in this, the oldest Fraternity known to mankind.
