Bro. Kenneth Rodgers PM, Rep. of Masons Helping Masons and WM John Shaughnessy

Our last Lodge meeting, we had the privilege of a visit by Bro. Kenneth Rodgers (109), representative of Masons Helping Masons for the Grand Lodge of Kentucky.  Bro. Kenneth gave a great talk on the importance of Masons Helping Masons and also discussed the 2017 Grand Master's (Bro. Todd Jones) platforms for the upcoming year.  Bro. Kenneth presented a fantastic selection of knives, ties and pins that are availble to all Brothers with proceeds going to the Masons Helping Masons funds.

Also discussed was the focus of Laura Jones (the Grandmaster's wife) for the coming year, The Rite Care Kids program.  You can find out more about this program on her page on the Grand Lodge website by clicking here.

A couple of things to note as well.  The 2016 year is coming to an end, which means our next meeting, Dec. 6th will be our annual elections for officers for the upcoming year.  This is an important night for the Lodge as who you choose to run the Lodge will affect all Brothers for the upcoming year.  Please come out to show your support for the Lodge and upcoming officers for the 2017 year.  We will be having a chili dinner as well, so be sure to show up early for good food and fellowship!

Our last Lodge meeting of the year (Dec. 20th) will be our annual installation of officers for the coming year!  This will be an open Lodge so feel free to bring your families and friends along!  This will also be a potluck dinner with the Lodge providing the meat, so you might want to be thinking about what sides you can bring to make this a fantastic dinner for all.

Hope everyone has a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Brothers from the Grand Lodge of Kentucky performed a Cornerstone Laying Ceremony for the new Ballardsville Fire Department Station 2.  Past Master Gene Crady was also there to lend a helping hand.  The Grand Lodge did a great job with the ceremony and many brothers from local Lodges were there to show their support.  It was a great event for Masonry as well as for the South Oldham county community.

We had a fantastic Past Masters dinner last meeting!  Many brothers, their wives and past masters from Pewee Valley Lodge showed up along with past master from other Lodges as well as the current Masters from Pewee Valley Lodge and Fortitude Lodge!  It was an excellent night of fellowship and we all enjoyed some really good food!  Thanks to all the past masters who were able to attend!

Congratulations to Tommy Reynolds of Louisville, Kentucky!  Thanks to his donation to Pewee Valley Lodge, he won the S&W Airweight .38!

Also, thanks to ALL the Brothers and folks who made donations to the Lodge, it really helps the Lodge to be more active in the community and to help out in various charitable ways.  We could not do it without your support and help.

The Lodge has been busy this year with events and visitors.  During our last meeting, Brothers from Vine Grove Lodge No. 603 showed up to present Brother Jeff Meade, PM with a trophy from their latest golf scramble.  Vine Grove Lodge uses the golf scramble as a way to create funds for their scholarship program and also as an event to promote fellowship among Masons across the state.  Thanks for those Brothers for the hard work they do, and for visiting our Lodge!  We know Bro. Jeff appreciates that trophy! ;)

Also, Bro. Rob Henry received a Mason of the Month award from Worshipful Master John Shaughnessy.  Thanks Bro. Rob and congratulations!
